About Me

May, blogger at Faint with Hunger

I am a life-long vegetarian who became suddenly vegan in August 2013 after a long, below-the-surface struggle with my conscience and a concurrent struggle with IBS which has unexpectedly been solved by the removal of eggs, dairy and processed food from my diet!

I’ve been a student for the entire lifetime of the blog, first studying law and now training to be a midwife, so quick low-cost meals are a priority. Initially Faint with Hunger was a way to motivate myself to eat more interesting lunches, but it has grown to become a much more general cooking blog where I share recipes, photos, observations, challenges and general updates.

I hope you enjoy browsing through these pages. Please comment with suggestions, tips, questions or anything else you want to say. I’d love to hear if you’ve tried out one of my recipes, or if you’ve got one you’d like to share.

  1. I’m not a vegetarian but my Mum and sister have been for about 20 years. I cook for them often and find I’m naturally eating more veg-based meals and enjoy them. Best of luck with your blog – I’m on the brink of starting my own with a socio-political focus. Iain
